Paltz Patent title opinion, n.d.

This document titled "Recital" describes the challenges to title to the Paltz Patent, which was located along the Hudson River near New Paltz, N.Y. The recital contains the details of the application for patent of Captain John Evans in 1694 and the subsequent application for patent of Robert Sanders in 1702. These two patents were voided by acts of the colonial legislature and were unimproved. Later patents were granted to a number of individuals for smaller tracts within the bounds of the original patents. This document provides the facts surrounding the claims for a designation of legal title to the lands.
